Career Nights by Garner, Haire Blaze Trail in Routing of Dallas Christian

THE RUNDOWN
DBU turned a five-game winning streak into six on Wednesday night with a 107-52 trouncing of the Dallas Christian Crusaders. A Patriot 22-0 run held DCC scoreless for an 8:13 stretch in the first half, making the difference insurmountable.

It was all navy and red from the start. The Crusaders were forced to call a timeout only four minutes into the game after the Patriots the jumped to a 12-4 lead. Austin Garner sparked his squad's offense with 15 points, while Ta'Jay Dunlap's 4 steals animated a defense that forced 16 turnovers in the half.

The second frame was more of the same. DBU kept rolling, extending its advantage to as many 58, and the DCC offensive woes continued, shooting only 37.5% from the field and 21% from behind the arc. Justin Haire, who grabbed seven rebounds in the first half, tacked on another nine in the final period.

BLAKE FLICKNER ON THE PLAY FROM HIS BENCH
"We had an opportunity tonight for some guys who haven't had a lot of chances to get some rhythm…and get a chance to get in the game and get a sweat….[I] was glad to see our identity show there. We moved the ball. I thought we had some really good possessions.…Really good game for us this week.
