THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Tennis team traveled to Orlando, Florida, this past week for a four match week. After a successful opening three matches, going 2-1 with wins against St. Francis and Millersville, and a hard-fought loss against No. 22 Ferris State, the Patriots final match against Manhattenville was canceled.
 
DBU opened the week by blanking St. Francis by a score of 7-0. 
Grant McKenzie got the Patriots rolling in singles competition with a win, with 
Gabe Garrido and 
Aaron Capone following suit with wins of their own. 
Ricardo Carvajalino, 
Roman Hill and 
Andrew Dayman rounded out singles with wins of their own, sweeping St. Francis. DBU also won two doubles sets, starting off with a win by the team of 
Andrew Dayman and 
Roman Hill. The team of 
Bryce Skarya and 
Oliver Whittaker finished doubles with their own win, securing the match for DBU.
 
DBU started their match against Millersville with a doubles win, thanks to the team of 
Roman Hill and 
Andrew Dayman. The Patriots secured the match win, thanks in large part to sweeping the singles competition, starting off with 
Grant McKenzie. 
Gabe Garrido, 
Aaron Capone,  Ricardo Carvajalin, 
Zach Capone and 
Roman Hill topped off the week with their singles wins, beating Millersville 6-1.
 
During the 6-1 loss versus No. 22 Ferris State, 
Gabe Garrido handed the Patriots their only set win with a singles win. After a week long set of matches, 
Gabe Garrido advances to 8-1 in singles matches on the season. 
Grant McKenzie advances to 5-3 while 
Aaron Capone moves to 5-2, and 
Roman Hill sits at 5-3 this season.
 
UP NEXT
DBU heads home and will host a three match week, starting on Wednesday, March 16 against Ottawa, before beginning conference play on March 18 and 19 against Cameron and UAFS.
