THE RUNDOWN
No. 23 DBU was drubbed by Texas A&M 14-1 Tuesday night at Blue Bell Park. An Aggie offense that scored 23 runs against No. 10 Georgia last Saturday refused to cool off, leaving the yard five times and scoring in every inning to snap DBU's four-game midweek win streak.Â
The Patriots (23-13, 4-2) trailed 9-0 before
Cole Moore delivered DBU's first base knock in the fourth inning.
Blayne Jones then opened the scoring column with a two-bagger of his own, drilling a 2-2 pitch into left field to drive in Moore. The offense looked ready to generate some momentum as
Luke Heefner singled to first base and Jones worked his way over to third, but a groundout ended the inning and DBU fell silent the rest of the way.
Nate Rombach extended his hit streak to 12 straight games with a single in the seventh inning. The sophomore stole second and advanced to third before a
Miguel Santos strikeout invoked the run rule in a 13-run defeat. Â
