THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Soccer team suffered a 5-1 loss to UT Tyler in a non-conference contest on Saturday night at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas. After falling behind 2-1 at the half, DBU (0-1-3) surrendered three goals to UT Tyler (2-0) over the final 28 minutes to drop their first match of the season.
A pair of goals from Sergio Sola and Nolan Giles gave UT Tyler a 2-0 advantage 35 minutes into the match before the Patriots struck for their lone goal. After an indirect penalty was called on UT Tyler goalkeeper, Mathias Eriksen, freshman
Gavyn Rosales scored his first career goal on a free kick at the 42-minute mark.
Â
That would be as close as DBU would get to UT Tyler on Saturday as UTT pulled away in the second half. Despite strong offensive pressure from the Patriots in the first 15 minutes, a counter by UT Tyler's Sergio Sola produced his second goal of the night and extended UTT's lead back to a two-goal advantage with 28 minutes left to play. Goals from Lukas Paulun and Craig Chisolm finished off a five-goal performance for UT Tyler.
