No. 13 DBU & Angelo State's Defensive Slugfest Ends in 0-0 Tie

THE RUNDOWN
The No. 13 DBU Women's Soccer and Angelo State's match at Patriot Soccer Field ended in a scoreless draw this afternoon. The Patriots gave themselves plenty of opportunities, but no shot found the back of the net.

DBU dominated the first half, putting a lot of pressure on Angelo State's defense and goalkeeper Amber Lockwood. DBU compiled a total of 16 shots with Annie Severide and Taylor Tufts taking charge of the offense. Severide contributed six shots and Tufts attempted five while ASU remained shotless through the half. The height of the half was found in DBU's penalty kick opportunity that was blocked by goalkeeper Lockwood. The score remained 0-0 at the end of the first 45.

A sense of urgency in the second half loomed over both teams as they searched for the first goal of the game. The Rambelles's offense created some action, but it was quickly broken by DBU's defense. Parker Coe and Rachel Allen helped preserve the shutout, and freshman goalkeeper Carmen Lopez only saw one shot on goal. Possession in the final ten minutes was heavily on the Patriot's attacking half with Angelo State fighting to have any kind of opportunity in the box, but neither team was able to find a goal before time ran out bringing the score to a final 0-0 draw.
