No. 10 DBU Advances to LSC Championship Match After 1-0 Win Over Midwestern State

THE RUNDOWN
The No. 10 DBU Women's Soccer team battled to a 1-0 win over Midwestern State in the LSC semifinals at Patriot Soccer Field on Friday night. A Parker Coe goal in the second half made off a corner kick proved to be the game-winner for DBU.

DBU opened the game with two shots in the first 43 seconds, proving their offensive presence as they went on to spend most of the first half on their attacking third. The Patriots had nine set-piece opportunities in the first 45 minutes, but none could find the back of the net thanks to MSU's freshman goalkeeper Allison Dellis, who had seven saves in the first half. The game remained scoreless into halftime.

DBU continued to press on in the second half making 11 more shot attempts. It wasn't until the 73rd minute that the lone goal of the night was scored. Parker Coe's right-footed shot put the Patriots up 1-0 after McKenna Vela's shot attempt off of Kaleigh Naizer's corner kick was deflected. DBU did not allow any more shot attempts to be made by the Mustangs, finishing the game with a 1-0 win to advance to the LSC Tournament Championship game.
