THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 2 Midwestern State in Sunday's Lone Star Conference Championship at Stang Park in Wichita Falls, Texas. All five goals for the Mustangs came in the first half as the Patriots fell to MSU in their first-ever trip to the LSC Finals in program history.
The Mustangs took advantage of a DBU team that had played back-to-back double overtime affairs to reach the championship match to score two quick goals in the first eight minutes. The first goal came in the fourth minute by Maycol Reyes, followed by the second just three-and-a-hald minutes later from Liam Pritchard.
Trailing 2-0 into the 20th minute, the Patriots were unable to contain the MSU offensive attack as Gabriel Gacovicaj scored to extend the Mustangs' lead to three, followed by Reyes' second goal just three minutes later. MSU's Samuel Muroni delivered the Mustangs' final goal in the 31st minute.
