DBU suffered a gritty three-set defeat to defending national champions No. 2 West Texas A&M in their second game of the LSC Tournament Preview on the campus of WT. The Lady Patriots are still in search of their first win over the Lady Buffs.

The score swayed in the match's opening, with WT (9-1) going up 5-2 before DBU (6-4) went ahead 8-6. The Lady Buffs took control of the set shortly after via a 10-3 run. They sustained their distance from the Lady Patriots to take the first set.

WT gained early separation from DBU in set two, but a 5-1 stretch by the Lady Patriots tied the game at nine apiece. The Lady Buffs answered by claiming six of the following eight points. With DBU down 14-16, the two squads traded points for ten straight rallies, but a late push by WT ended the frame at 25-21 in favor of the home team.

The Lady Patriots found themselves in a hole, 10-20, in the third set.
Lindsey Otero gave DBU a boost with two kills and a block assist with
Karly Wells, but WT responded by putting themselves within two points of the match, 23-14. Led by three kills and two blocks by
Shaylee Shore, the Lady Patriots rallied to 21, with the Lady Buffs one away from the match.
Delaney Fuller extended the run to 7-1 with a pair of kills, but WT finally put the match away off the hand of Carly Evetts.
