Patriots Spook Aggies, Improve Winning Streak to Five

THE RUNDOWN
DBU (20-4, 13-2 LSC) swept Cameron (2-24, 2-13 LSC) Saturday afternoon, extending its winning streak to five. Avery Keck led everyone on the floor in the kill column with seven without recording a single attack error, and finished the game with an even .500 hitting percentage (7/14). The Aggie attack was neutralized all afternoon, as Cameron finished with a .012 hitting percentage.

The first ten rallies of set one all went DBU's way, setting the tone for what was going to be a long afternoon for the Aggies. DBU dominated Cameron in the first two frames, outscoring them 50-20. The Patriots landed a staggering 11 service aces in that span, nine of which came in the opening frame. Through sets one and two, the only times that the Patriots did not hold a lead were when the scoreboard read 0-0.

Avery Keck kickstarted set three with a kill, but the Aggies kept it close in the early stages of the frame. Cameron led 12-10, but the Patriots would push back and go on a 5-1 run, which gave them a 15-13 lead and forced the Aggies to take a timeout. DBU exploded out of the break and won 10 of the next 16 rallies, effectively ending the game and cementing their third consecutive straight-set victory.
