Pair of Goals by Olmos Give Patriots 3-0 Win Over Texas Woman's

THE RUNDOWN
In a fast-paced game, No. 10 DBU suffocated Texas Woman's top-ranked defense, earning a 3-0 victory thanks to goals by Angelina Olmos and Anne Louthan. The match, played at Patriot Soccer Field, marks DBU's third consecutive clean sheet.

Offensive sparks flew in the first half as the Patriots went up 2 goals in the first half. In the first 10 minutes, possession favored Texas Woman's. This quickly switched, however, when Angelina Olmos scored the first goal for the Patriots in the 14th minute. Kaleigh Naizer's one-touch pass to McKenna Vela in the box found the foot of Angelina Olmos, and the series of three touches broke TWU's five-game shutout streak. With momentum on their side, DBU continued to press offensively. In the 24th minute, Kaleigh Naizer sent a cross sailing through the box, connecting with Anne Louthan mid-air. Louthan's header flew into the top right corner of the net, just out of reach of TWU goalkeeper Amanda Farris. The Patriots went into the half having outshot the Pioneers 12-1.

The halftime break did nothing to slow DBU's offensive stride as Angelina Olmos delivered her second goal of the night just three minutes into the second half. Olmos gained possession near the centerfield stripe and dribbled through four defenders before making her right-footed shot into the net. The Patriots' midfield defenders kept possession away from the Pioneers, allowing just three shots total by TWU. In the end, DBU's offensive dominance overpowered the No. 24 ranked defense in the nation, leading to the Patriots' ninth win of the season.
