No. 9 DBU & UT Tyler Finish in 1-1 Tie

THE RUNDOWN
On Wednesday night, No. 9 DBU and UT Tyler battled to a 1-1 tie at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas. In a match that saw both teams take 17 shots, the Patriots could not hold onto a one-goal lead in the final four-and-a-half minutes as DBU tied for the second time in Lone Star Conference play.

DBU mounted three key offensive chances in the first half, seeing one shot go off the post and two shots blocked by UTT defenders in front of the goal, preventing the Patriots from scoring in the first 45 minutes. DBU senior goalkeeper and the Patriot defense also shined in the first half, limiting UTT's leading goal scorer, Natalie Jones, without a shot.

Tied into the 72nd minute, DBU broke the scoreless tie when Hannah Montoya notched her first career goal on a set-piece opportunity. Following a UTT foul, Haley Roberson's cross into the penalty box was headed by Anne Louthan to Montoya, who delivered the goal inside the left post.

With the Patriots holding onto a one-goal lead into the 85th minute, UTT's Halli Keese netted the equalizer with the assist coming from Sydnee Garner.
