Volleyball Falls to Lubbock Christian Saturday Afternoon

THE RUNDOWN
DBU (11-10, 5-8 LSC) fell to Lubbock Christian (21-5, 13-1 LSC) Saturday afternoon, increasing the Lady Patriots' losing skid to six games. Karly Wells once again led everyone on the floor with 19 kills, but the DBU offense was held to a .147 team-wide hitting percentage in the loss.

The Lady Patriots jumped out to a hot start in the first set, leading 16-10 at one point. The Lady Chaps would then rattle off six consecutive points to knot up the frame, and would eventually win it 25-21.

LCU would ride their momentum through another frame, as their hitting percentage differential was +0.369 in the second set. The Lady Chaps took set two, 25-15.

After a back-and-forth start to the third set, the Lady Patriots began to pull away. DBU led 15-11 and held on to their lead, winning the third frame 25-22. DBU held LCU to a .135 hitting percentage en route to the set victory.

In the fourth frame, LCU took a 5-4 lead and didn't relinquish their advantage, ending the game with a 25-20 set win.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Lauren Witte recorded her 12th double-double of the year this afternoon. She is now tied with Paityn Winters for the team lead in double-doubles.
- Aizlyn Dewberry led the Lady Patriots with seven total blocks (two solo, five assisted).
- LCU held DBU to a negative hitting percentage in the second set (-0.036).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
7 - For the first time this year, Reagan Fifer has recorded seven or more kills in three consecutive games (eight today).
4 - DBU has four games left in the regular season.
3 - The Lady Patriots currently sit three games out of a spot in the LSC Tournament.
 
UP NEXT
DBU will return home next weekend for the final two home games of the year, welcoming Oklahoma Christian and Cameron to The Burg Center.
