DBU Falls to Oklahoma Christian in Four Sets

THE RUNDOWN
DBU (11-11, 5-9 LSC) fell to Oklahoma Christian (17-9, 9-6 LSC) in four sets Friday night, increasing the Lady Patriots' losing skid to seven games. For just the third time this year, the game's leading attacker was not a Lady Patriot. DBU was held to a .127 hitting percentage and allowed the Eagles to hit .323 tonight.

The first and third sets were essentially identical, as OC won 25-14 in both frames. DBU was held to a hitting percentage under .100 in both sets, while Oklahoma Christian hit .323 in the opener and a whopping .424 in the third set. The Eagles did not record a single attacking error in the third frame.

DBU led 3-2 early in the second set, but after letting that lead go, they wouldn't see an advantage until an Eagle attacking error made it 21-20 DBU. The second set was knotted up down the stretch at 10, 14, 16, 18, 19, and 20 before the Lady Patriots pulled away. Reagan Fifer and Kalin Hubbard recorded a huge block that won the set for DBU, 25-22.

The fourth set was similar to that of the first and third, albeit the most impressive frame of the night for the Eagles offensively. OC hit .441 in the fourth frame and held DBU to a .111 clip, as Oklahoma Christian walked out of The Burg Center with a four-set win.
