Men’s Tennis Opens Season Strong with Langle, Castleberry, and Beitman Leading the Charge

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Tennis team had a strong weekend to open their season, securing wins against Hendrix, John Brown, and Ozark. The Patriots displayed impressive skill and teamwork, overcoming early challenges to dominate their opponents. 

On Day 1, the team faced some initial challenges adjusting to indoor play but ultimately found their rhythm, earning two solid wins. Against Hendrix, the Patriots secured a 5-2 victory, followed by a 6-1 triumph over John Brown. Arturo Langle was the standout performer of the day, going undefeated in both singles and doubles, showcasing his exceptional all-around play.

Day 2 saw a tightly contested doubles point, which the Patriots clinched thanks to the strong pairing of freshman Kell Castleberry and Arturo Beitman. With the momentum from the doubles win, the team came out swinging in singles, sweeping all lines for a dominant 7-0 victory over Ozark.

UP NEXT
The Patriots will take on the University of Dallas in Arlington, Texas, on Thursday, before heading to Kerrville, Texas, on Friday to face Schreiner.
