Patriots' Depth Shines in Weekend Wins Over Texas Wesleyan and Weatherford

THE RUNDOWN
The Dallas Baptist University men's tennis team had an impressive weekend, competing in two highly competitive matches that tested their depth and resilience. On Friday, the Patriots faced off against Texas Wesleyan, coming away with a hard-fought 4-3 victory. Edgar Mayorga played a key role in the win, staging a dramatic comeback after being down 0-3 in the third set. Mayorga saved three match points and managed to prevail 7-5, securing the victory for DBU. Arturo Langle and Fabian Rosales also contributed with important singles wins, helping the Patriots notch their first victory over Texas Wesleyan in the past four years.

The following day, DBU continued their strong performance against Weatherford, clinching a 4-2 victory. Alec Rule and Arturo Beitman stepped up at lines 5 and 6, securing crucial singles victories to seal the win. Matthew Abbey also contributed to the team's success, earning a singles win at line 2. The Patriots' doubles play proved pivotal in both matches, as they won the doubles point in each contest, giving them a 1-0 lead heading into singles play. This strong doubles performance has been a key factor in DBU's recent success and is proving to be an important asset as the season progresses.

DBU HEAD COACH WADE MORGAN ON THE TEAM PERFORMANCE
"It's good to have depth, I feel great about the guys playing at any given time and leaving it all on the court in these close matches, hopefully, we're building some mental toughness now which will help us later. "
