Patriots Dominate in Doubleheader, Sweeping McMurry 7-0 and Defeating Hardin-Simmons 4-1

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Tennis team had an outstanding day on the court, defeating McMurry 7-0 in their first match before turning around just hours later to defeat Hardin-Simmons 4-1.

Against McMurry, it was a perfect showing in doubles play. The teams of Fabian Rosales and Ricardo Carvajalino (6-3 at line 1), Kell Castleberry and Arturo Beitman (6-1 at line 2), and Mariano Guzman and Oliver Whittaker (6-2 at line 3) all secured victories, completing a grand slam in doubles for the Patriots. In singles action, DBU continued their dominance with a clean sweep. Carvajalino won at line 1, Edgar Mayorga triumphed at line 2, Beitman took the win at line 3, Zach Capone secured a victory at line 4, Castleberry dominated at line 5, and Braxton Jett wrapped up the sweep at line 6.

In their second match of the day, the Patriots faced Hardin-Simmons. Although DBU dropped one match in singles play, they were otherwise dominant. The Patriots swept all three doubles matches with ease, continuing their stellar doubles play. In singles, only one loss came at line 1, but the rest of the squad came through strong to seal the 4-1 victory. Head coach Wade Morgan praised the team's depth and contributions, saying, "The men did well, only dropping one match today against HSU after sweeping McMurry. Everyone contributed in both matches today, and it's great to have enough depth in the roster to rotate guys and keep the momentum going." With this impressive doubleheader sweep, the Patriots showcased their strength across both doubles and singles play, continuing to build momentum for the remainder of the season.
