Lady Patriots Soccer Wins 1-0

The Dallas Baptist University Lady Patriot Soccer Team improved their season record to 5-9-1 on Saturday as they defeated St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, by the score of 1-0. With the win, DBU moves their Heartland Conference record to 4-4.

It was a scoreless game until Sophomore Brittany Layne played a give and go pass with Sarah Meierhofer to break the Lady Rattler defense and score the games only goal. Layne's goal in the 43rd minute is her 11th goal of the 2009 season as she leads the Lady Patriots.

With the loss, the Lady Rattlers drop their record to 3-10-1 on the season and 3-4 in Heartland Conference play.

The Lady Patriots are back in action on Thursday, October 22 as they welcome the Dustdevils from Texas A&M-International University to campus for a Heartland Conference game. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
