Lady Patriot Soccer Shuts Out Dustdevils

The Dallas Baptist University Lady Patriot Soccer Team improved their season record to 6-9-1 on Thursday night as they defeated the Texas A&M International University Lady Dustdevils by the score of 6-0.  With the win, DBU improves to 5-4 in Heartland Conference play.

The Lady Patriots took an early 1-0 lead on the Lady Dustdevils when Sophomore Brittany Layne scored on a Senior Sarah Meierhofer assist in the 19th minute of action.  The first half ended with DBU on top 1-0.

Early in the second half, Junior Ally Bales score the Lady Patriots second goal off a corner kick to extend the DBU lead.  Bales added another goal in the 57th, before Layne scored her second of the game to give the Lady Patriots a 4-0 lead.

Meierhofer and Junior Chelsea Smith ended the Lady Dustdevils hopes of a comeback when they each added a goal late in the game to finish the game with a win, 6-0.

The Lady Patriots are back in action on Saturday, October 24, as they welcome the University of the Incarnate Word Lady Cardinals to Patriot Field for a Heartland Conference matchup.  Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
