Lady Patriot Soccer Drops Fourth Straight

The Dallas Baptist University Lady Patriots Soccer team fell to 2-5-1 for the season on Saturday afternoon in San Angelo, Texas, as they were defeated by Angelo State University in overtime, 2-1.

DBU took the early lead when Sophomore Stephanie Emmert scored from a header off a Junior Ally Bales corner kick.  The Lady Patriot defense held strong as they took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

ASU struck in the 49th minute to tie the game 1-1 when Brandie DeBacker scored for the Rambelles.

At the end of regulation the score was deadlocked at 1-1, which sent the game to overtime action.  In the sixth minute of the first overtime period, Christian Willman converted on a Rambelle penalty kick to give ASU the win over DBU by the score of 2-1.

The Lady Patriots are back in action on Thursday, September 24, as they welcome St. Mary's University to Patriot Field for a Heartland Conference game.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
