Lady Patriots Fall to Lady Hilltoppers, 2-1

The Dallas Baptist University Lady Patriot Soccer Team fell to 3-6-1 for the season on Saturday afternoon as they were defeated by St. Edward's University at Patriot Field by the score of 2-1.  With the loss, DBU falls to 2-1 in Heartland Conference play.

The Lady Hilltoppers took the early lead when Brianna Hinnenkamp scored in the 12th minute from an assist by Jordan Ynostrosa.  After a hard fought first half by both teams, SEU took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

St. Edward's added to their lead early in the second half when Kim Abbott scored from a Janae Averett.

Sophomore Kourtney Edwards for the Lady Patriots dribbled through the Lady Hilltopper defense in the 86th minute to give DBU their only goal on the day, leaving the score 2-1.  With the win, SEU improves to 7-1-1 on the season and 2-2 in Heartland Conference play. 

The Lady Patriots are back in action on Thursday, October 1 as they travel to San Antonio, Texas, to take on the University of the Incarnate Word Lady Cardinals.  Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
