Lady Patriots Topple TWU, 3-1

The Dallas Baptist Lady Patriot Volleyball Team knocked off the visiting Pioneers from Texas Woman's University on Tuesday evening, 3-1. The win avenges a 2-3 loss suffered to the Pioneers in Denton back on October 5, and moves the Patriots to 14-15 on the season. DBU remains in second place in the Heartland Conference with a 6-3 record.

The two teams split the opening two sets with the Lady Patriots taking the first 25-20, and the Pioneers capturing the second, 25-21.

After putting together combined .145 attack percentage through the first two sets, the Lady Patriots rolled through the final two sets, 25-13 and 25-14. DBU used 21 kills and only 6 errors for a combined .233 attack percentage in the final two sets.

DBU was led by Junior Kaylyn Frink with 12 kills and 13 digs. Sophomores Christina Steinkruger and May Allen each ended the night with 15 kills apiece, while Freshman Lauren Pavloske added 13 of her own.

The Lady Patriots will return to conference action tomorrow as they travel to Austin to take on St. Edward's University. Game time between the top two Heartland Conference contenders will be at 7:00 p.m.
