Box Score

The Dallas Baptist University Lady Patriot Soccer Team fell to 2-8 for the season on Thursday afternoon in San Antonio, Texas, as they lost in single overtime against the Lady Rattlers from St. Mary's University, 1-0.  With the loss, DBU drops to 0-2 in Heartland Conference play.

The Lady Patriots hit the cross-bar early in the first half as they were putting pressure on the Lady Rattler defense, but could not produce a goal.  The two teams headed into halftime after a scoreless half in which each team saw numerous scoring opportunities.

In the second half, DBU looked to be the stronger side, but the Lady Rattler defense fended off the many Lady Patriot attacks including a 25-yard shot from Junior Kourtney Edwards that bounced off the cross-bar.

A scoreless second half resulted in a 0-0 tie in regulation play, which forced overtime.  In the first overtime period Carolina Hernandez tapped in a loose ball into the back of the Lady Patriot net to give the Lady Rattlers a 1-0 win over DBU.

The Lady Patriots are back in action on Saturday, October 9, as they continue their road trip to Laredo, Texas, to face the Lady Dustdevils of Texas A&M International.  Kickoff is scheduled for an 11:00 a.m.
