Lady Patriot Soccer Falls to 19th-Ranked Lady Buffs

The Dallas Baptist Lady Patriot Soccer Team fell to the 19th-ranked Lady Buffs from West Texas A&M on Thursday night, 1-2. The Lady Patriots are now 2-5 on the season.

Senior Ally Bales gave DBU an early lead in the game, when she found an opening in the Lady Buff defense and scored her team-leading third goal of the season.

The Lady Patriot lead was erased only 12 minutes later, when Lindsay McHorse's shot slid past DBU Goalkeeper, Haley Corbell, in the 30th minute. The game remained tied 1-1 at halftime, despite a ten shot advantage in the first period for the Lady Buffs.

McHorse struck again for West Texas in the 87th minute, when her header found the back of the Lady Patriot net, sealing the 2-1 win for the Lady Buffs.

After a staggering 19 shots by West Texas, Corbell ended the match with seven saves for DBU.

The Lady Patriots will return to the field on Tuesday, September 28, as they travel to Texas Woman's University. Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
