The Dallas Baptist Patriot Baseball Team captured their series opener over Seattle University with 10-6 win Thursday evening at Patriot Field. The Patriots improve to 24-12 on the season while the Redhawks drop to 14-17 with the loss.

Jared Stafford notched his fourth win of the year after pitching six innings, allowing three runs on five hits, and striking out five.
Seattle opened the game scoring three runs in the top of the first inning, while the Patriots put two runs on the board in the bottom half. With the bases loaded, Junior
Ryan Behmanesh scored the first run of the night for the Patriots with a sacrifice fly. Behmanesh picked up his 34th RBI of the season with the hit, scoring Junior
Landon Anderson who reached on a leadoff walk. Junior
Kenny Hatcher scored the second run of the inning with another sacrifice fly, pulling DBU to within one run, 3-2.
After a scoreless second and third inning by the Redhawks, DBU posted another two runs in the bottom half of the third to take their first lead of the night. Senior
Josh Wilson led off with a triple and was pushed across the plate by Anderson's sacrifice fly the next at bat, tying the game at 3-3. Senior
Jason Krizan, who leads the team in RBI with 45, added to his season total with a solo homerun later in the inning to give the Patriots a 4-3 advantage.
Still holding their one run lead in the fifth, Hatcher put some separation on the board after blasting a grand slam to left field. His second homerun of the season scored Behmanesh, Anderson, and Senior
Tyler Robbins to give DBU an 8-3 lead.
Seattle tacked on another run in the top of the seventh but Hatcher went back to work for the Patriots in the bottom of the inning as he picked up his sixth RBI of the night. His RBI double down the left field line scored Krizan who led off the inning with a single.
The two teams traded runs in the eighth to make it 10-5 in favor of the Patriots, and a final run in the ninth by Seattle left DBU with the 10-6 win.
The second game of the series is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Patriot Field.
