The Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer Team dropped a 1-0 decision to Southwestern Oklahoma State on Friday afternoon at Patriot Soccer Field.  DBU (4-5-1), outshot the Lady Bulldogs 15 to eight and totaled five more shots on goal, but could not overcome a goal by SWOSU's, Samantha Nunez, at the 70:48 mark.

The Patriots went on the attack early in the game's opening minutes.  Shots on goal from senior,

Rebecca Kernen, both ended up in the hands of the Lady Bulldogs' goalie, Courtney Flores.

DBU turned up the heat at the start of the second half, but could not sneak one in the net, as Flores snagged four more saves in the first eight minutes of the second half.  The Patriots would not get another shot at the net until the final 20 minutes of the game, when Flores snatched a header attempt from Presley, to preserve a 0-0 tie.

Twenty-two seconds later, Nunez tapped a shot past junior goalkeeper,
Kerry Edwards, into the left corner of the net to give SWOSU (6-2-2) a 1-0 advantage.  The Lady Bulldogs would not relinquish the lead, as DBU managed just two more shots, one from sophomore,
Dixie Kurrus, and the other from Presley, in the final 19 minutes.

With the loss, DBU falls to 3-4 versus non-conference opponents on the season.  The Patriots look to get back on track, when they host Heartland Conference foe, Oklahoma Christian, at home on Monday, October 14
th, at  6:30 pm in game two of season long six game homestand.

DBU enters Monday night's game in a three-way tie for fourth place in the Heartland with a 1-1 mark in conference play.  OCU enters with an 0-1-1 mark in the league.
