DALLAS – The Dallas Baptist Men's Soccer Team had a flair for the dramatic on Monday, but Ricardo Chinchilla's second consecutive goal counted for the game-winner and sent the Patriots to a 4-3 overtime loss. DBU (3-7, 1-2) drops its third straight game and two in a row by one goal.

Trailing 3-2 for about 30 minutes, the Patriots were urgently trying to get a shot off. Sophomore
Brian Robertson's corner kick around 10 seconds remaining helped set up the heroics of sophomore
Alex Becerra. The midfielder netted his second goal of the season as time expired and ended regulation 3-3.

The Patriots got off to a fast start, taking its only lead of the night 1-0 off freshman
Riley Alvey's second goal of the season at the 8:48 mark. Robertson recorded the assist.

OCU (3-6-1, 1-2) tied the game in the 33
rd minute as Brandon Little Axe tallied his fourth goal of the season. The game remained 1-1 at halftime.

Cole Rinke got the Eagles back on top early in the second half at the 48:34 minute mark, with an assist coming from Little Axe.

In the 53
rd minute, Robertson extended his team-leading sixth goal to bring the game even 2-2. The shot taken was about 25-30 yards out and was just out of reach from the goalie jumping high.

Chinchilla, the eventual hero for the Eagles, gave his team a 3-2 lead at the 59:59 mark. Little Axe also assisted both of his goals to give him a team-high three assists in the victory.

Head Coach
Chris Crawford continues finding the positives despite tough results. "It was a tough loss for the guys tonight, but they kept fighting," Crawford says. "The momentum kept swinging back and forth and we knew it was going to be a long game."

Evan Helker (3-6-1) made several big saves to keep his team in front for the win. He tallied 12 total saves while facing 21 shots and allowed three goals.

Sophomore
Chuck Schober (2-6) was saddled with another tough luck loss allowing four goals and pulling in six saves.

After setting a team best 28 shots on Saturday against Ouachita Baptist, the Patriots matched its previous program high with 21 tonight. They did place a record breaking 15 shots on goal though. OCU did counter with 25 shots to hold the edge.

Robertson led the offense with a game-high six shots and five shots on goal to continue leading the team with his career season. Alvey piled on career-highs with five shots and four shots on goal, and fellow freshman
Brandon O'Donovan tallied the other multi-shot game with three attempts.

Domenico DeGrazia, Little Axe, and Chinchillia led the Eagles with five shots apiece. Troy Tipperconnic and Rinke added four each in the high shooting affair.

DBU is now 2-5 in one-goal differentials and 0-3 in overtime, sure signs of a team that will never give up.

Crawford echoed these sentiments, "The great thing about this team is they never quit and are never satisfied. We will keep working and keep moving forward." Â

Dallas Baptist is half-way through its home stand with game three of the stretch on Saturday at 5 pm versus St. Mary's.
