The Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer Team defeated Grace College 1-0 to advance to the National Christian College Athletic Association Championship on Saturday at 12 PM. The Patriots (17-6-1) are one win shy of matching a program best 18 wins, notched in the previous campaign, as they meet on the pitch one final time versus Azusa Pacific.
The Cougars (15-3-1) avenged their loss in the NCCAA West Regional Final, topping Point Loma 2-0 in a rematch to determine the other team for Saturday. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
For the second time in this NCCAA National Tournament, the Patriots only netted one goal, but would be enough to lift DBU to the next round. Entering as the No.1-Seed after Pool-play, Dallas Baptist and Grace played an even first half, combing for less than 10 shots.
The Patriots held a slight edge four-to-two on shot attempts in the frame, but the semi-final match was 0-0 at halftime.

Danielle Presley got the golden goal for the Patriots in the 66
th minute, and now sits three away from 50 total in her career. It counts for her team-leading 17 goals, landing her two shy of a personal best 19 last season, and is her eighth ball she's netted in the past 10 matches.
This includes tying a team-long five-game scoring streak that stretched through the first four contests in postseason play. The Flower Mound, Texas, native has now has posted 13 goals in her career throughout the postseason, with nine coming on the current campaign. Sophomore
Jolee Patterson contributed the assist, given her one in back-to-back games.
As a team the Patriots poured on the chances, attempting 12 of their 16 game shots in the second half, building a 16-5 advantage on the Cougars. Sophomore
Ashley Cox led the way with five shot attempts and was one of two players boasting multiple shot on goal efforts. Presley was the other part of the duo shooting 2-for-2 with a 100-percent SOG percentage.

Courtney Baxter added four shots in the close victory, while sophomores,
Jessica Salas and
Lindsey Eccles also kicked two.

Kerry Edwards (17-6-1) recorded her personal best 16
th shutout on the campaign. It is the squad's fifth in a row and 13
th in past 14 contests. The three-year starting keeper grabbed two saves and hasn't allowed a goal in last 475:45 minutes of action.
Carmen Barnhill (12-7-3) was saddled with the tough loss facing 16 shots and pulling in five saves. The keeper's lone blemish occurred against the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Year, and has been on fire for the Patriots in all the tournaments the past month.
Mallory Rondeau and Darcy Johnston tallied two shots apiece leading Grace College's offense on the afternoon.
