Lindsey Eccles's goal in the 68
th minute of the second half was enough for the Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer team to capture its first victory of the season 2-1 over Central Oklahoma. DBU (1-1-1) wraps up its three game road trip, while Central Oklahoma (1-3) snaps its seven game unbeaten streak at home dating back to last year.

Eccles chipped the game winner on an assist that came from senior
Danielle Presley, which counted for the only goal of the second half. The sophomore, forward knocked in her second goal of the year, and found the back of the net after UCO's goalkeeper committed to blocking the opposite side. UCO only attempted two shots beyond that goal and the Patriots prevailed.

DBU got off to a fast start as sophomore,
Ashley Cox, tallied her first goal of the season at the 8:41 mark with the first shot of the contest. Freshman,
Rebecca Kernen, picked up the assist, the first of her career.

The Broncos evened the score near the end of the half with a goal by Sarah Purcell. It was her second on the year, and Emily Hahn delivered the assist. The score remained 1-1 at halftime.

The Patriots held the edge on shots in both halves with six in the first and seven in the second for 13 overall. UCO managed three per half for six overall. Presley led DBU with five shots and three shots on goal. Eccles followed with four shots and her lone shot on goal landed in between the posts for a goal. Sophomore

Kerry Edwards, (1-1-1) earned her first win on the year and played a solid 90 minutes in the goal. The Heartland Defensive Player of the Week allowed one goal on six shot attempts and did not record a save.

Brandi Bartley (1-3) allowed two goals and nabbed five saves in 90 minutes in the goal for UCO.

"This was a great result on the road for us," Head Coach
Michelle Lenard began. "UCO is a tough opponent and they are very difficult to beat at home. We played well enough to win and that's what mattered today."

Dallas Baptist returns to Patriot Soccer Field for its home opener on Saturday against West Texas A&M. Kickoff is set for 1pm.
