THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist Volleyball team still has a chance to end their regular season with a positive, despite not being able to earn a spot in the Heartland Conference Tournament after a loss in straight sets to the St. Mary's Rattlers. The Lady Patriots will head to Laredo where they will face the Texas A&M International Dustdevils where they hope to take a win into next season.

ENDING ON A HIGH NOTE
Since 2011 the Lady Patriots have been able to end their regular season schedule in victories. This trend could possibly continue with their last two season finale wins coming against upcoming Heartland Conference foe Texas A&M International. DBU defeated TAMIU in straight sets in both the 2012 and 2013 regular season finale.

BIRD SOARS CLOSER TO 1,000
Throughout the season redshirt junior setter Kaycie Bird has dominated when it has come to dishing out assists. Bird currently holds seven of the top ten match highs in assists including the number one position where she registered 66 assists against the University of Texas-Permian Basin earlier in the season. With 978 assists for the year, Bird has the opportunity to register or even surpass 1,000 assists for the season.

MANLEY NEARING 200
Freshman outside hitter Brooke Manley has really stood out this season as she was able to help out the Lady Patriots in her first year of duty. Through her hard work she has registered 193 kills and is only seven away from having 200 for the year. Manley is currently third on the team in kills behind Tiara Gipson (324) and Krystal Wunderlich (205).

THE LAST TIME OUT
The last meeting between the Lady Patriots and the Dustdevils resulted in a win in straight sets for DBU. Many Lady Patriots contributed with match highs including Tiara Gipson with 17 kills, Kaycie Bird with 41 assists, and Tadam Mergener with 24 digs.

SCOUTING THE DUSTDEVILS
TAMIU currently sits in eighth place in the Heartland Conference and are out of contention for a spot in the Heartland Conference Tournament. The Dustdevils have lost three of their last four matches with their most recent match being a loss in straight sets to first place University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
