The Patriots are coming off a 17-7-1 campaign last season, which marks the second highest win total for seventh year Head Coach

A strong early slate continues for the Patriots, with five of the first eight contests versus top 25 nationally ranked preseason programs. So far DBU has tied 1-1 versus No. 9 ranked Colorado School of Mines.

Kerry Edwards played tough for 110 minutes, only allowing one goal from CSM's Deidre Johnson in the 49
th minute of the contest. The native of McKinney Texas collected seven saves in the tie.
The Patriots were outshot 19-8, but still managed to escape with a tie and demonstrated a mental toughness on the road against a top-10 ranked foe.

Rebecca Kernen. These three players hold tops in the scoring category.
Cox boasts 26 points in back-to-back years while notching a career-best 10 goals, six assists, and 42 shots on goal. Last year, she was tabbed NCCAA All-Tournament Team, NCCAA First Team All-Region, and First Team All-Heartland Conference.
MacDonald totaled a personal best seven goals, with all of them finding the back of the net in five straight matches. The five-game streak accounted for 15 of the Cedar Hill, Texas, product's 16 points.
Kernen contributed a solid rookie season starting 18 of the Patriots' 25 matches. She ranks third on the current squad from last year with five goals, second with four assists, and third in points with 14.
PLAYERS TO WATCHEdwards has done a spectacular job her entire career at goalkeeper for Dallas Baptist. The McKinney, Texas, native has played in 69 games in three seasons, counting a career-high 25 last year. She owns a 45-15-1 record overall and set career marks in minutes played (2,270:30) and shut outs (16) in 2013.
Senior
Jake Cox has started all 69 games in her career and contributed 14 points over the past three seasons. The native of McKinney, Texas played 1,964 minutes to lead all position players and had a personal-high, eight shots on goal last year.
Sedwick has collected 29 goals in her three-year career. Her debut season has been her best thus far with 29 points and 13 goals. The senior midfielder is 30 points away from 100.
SCOUTING METRO STATE The Roadrunners began the season with a 2-0 victory over West Texas A&M on Thursday night. It was the first-ever regular season contest at The Regency Athletic Complex at MSU Denver.
After a nearly even first half where MSU outshot the Lady Buffs 7-6, the home team pounced to an 11-4 shot advantage in the second. Brandi Farley and Karisa Price did the scoring the Roadrunners in the final frame to secure an opening night win in the new facility.
Sam McCurley and Breanna Flores combined to work a shutout in the net. McCurley started and picked up a pair of saves, while Flores held things down the final 70:21 minutes.
SERIES HISTORYA year ago, these programs met and played to a 0-0 draw at Canyon, Texas. At the time, No. 14 Dallas Baptist played No. 10 Metro State in a defensive battle that didn't allow any points.
The Roadrunners held a 12-5 shot advantage in the second frame, but Edwards six of 10 saves in that half preserved a shutout.
Jake Cox led the Patriots with three shots and two shots on goal, while sophomore
Lindsey Eccles,
Ashley Cox, and Sedwick each added a pair of shot attempts.
