KICKOFF
Dallas Baptist University improved to 9-3-2 with a 5-0 win over Lubbock Christian on Thursday afternoon at Patriot Soccer Field. Forwards Ashley Cox and Maddie Owen scored a pair of goals to fuel the high-scoring attack.

Owen, the Heartland Conference leader in assists, found herself on the other side of a scoring play, netting an unassisted goal in the 20th minute to open the scoring. She settled into her normal role two minutes later, crossing a ball to the back side of the net to set up Rebecca Kernen for her second goal of the season.

Cox scored in the 32nd and 47th minutes to extend the Patriot lead to 4-0 and increase her season goal total to five. Owen found the net for the second time in the 56th minute on another unassisted goal.

DBU's defense also excelled in the match, not allowing a single shot on goal to the Chaps. Senior goalkeeper Jenna Ackerly saw just six shots before handing the duties over to Grace Johnson in the 78th minute.

HEARTLAND CONFERENCE DOMINANCE
DBU is undefeated in their last 15 regular season Heartland Conference matches (14-0-1) and can clinch a spot in the Heartland Conference tournament for the fifth straight season with a win over UTPB.

OWEN AMONG NATION'S TOP SETUP PLAYERS
With an assist in Thursday's win, Maddie Owen increases her season total to seven. She ranks 19th in Division II in total assists and 22nd in assists per game.

The Patriots rank 33rd in the country in goals against average and are second in the conference in goals allowed (9).

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
UTPB has struggled this season at 3-10-1, but have found relative success in the Heartland Conference with a 3-3 record. The Falcons are coming off a 2-0 loss to St. Edward's

Senior goalkeeper Ebony Campbell leads the conference and ranks 11th in the country in total saves (106). Senior forward Ashley Redwine paces the Falcons in points scored with four goals and one assist.
