Tadam Mergener added an instant impact as soon as she stepped on campus for the Lady Patriots. Accolades for Mergener include Heartland Conference President's Honor Roll recognition in 2014 and multiple Heartland Conference Player of the Week honors throughout her career. Mergener was also named Most Valuable Player during DBU's championship run of the Heartland Conference Tournament in 2013 and was a key contributor on the Lady Patriots squad that made it to the NCAA Regional Tournament. Mergener leaves DBU as the active leader in kills (606), total attempts (2,130), service aces (37), digs (1,186), and points (678).
Kaycie Bird -
Red Oak, TXAfter red-shirting her first year in 2011 out of Red Oak High School,
Kaycie Bird has been a constant figure on the court for the Lady Patriots.Bird has been a part of much success for DBU including the NCCAA Regional Championship Team in 2011 and the Heartland Conference Tournament Championship Team that went on to qualify for the NCAA Regional Tournament in 2013. Bird has been a constant mainstay on the Heartland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll garnering the recognition every year (2012, 2013, 2014) as well as achieving Heartland Conference Player of the Week honors. Bird leaves DBU as its active leader in sets played (404), matches played (109), and assists (2,655).
THE LAST TIME OUT The Jets defeated the Lady Patriots in four sets, 3-1.
