THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist Volleyball Team looks to  get back in a defensive mentality and refocus after falling in five sets, 3-2 to the University of Texas-Permian Basin. With hopes of clinching a spot in the Heartland Conference Tournament, the Lady Patriots head to Lubbock, TX to face the fourth place Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps.     

BIRD DISHES OUT OVER 500 ASSISTS
Registering 30 assists versus UT-Permian Basin, Kaycie Bird went over 500 assists for the season, notching 509 so far for the season. Bird, the active leader in assists for the Lady Patriots is currently fifth in the Heartland Conference in assists averaging 5.80 per set.

MARTIN GOES OVER 100 KILLS
In her first year with the Lady Patriots, Cooper Martin has made an instant impact on the court. Martin recently eclipsed the 100 kills mark after registering six kills versus UTPB. Martin with 103 kills for the season, now joins Carly Hess (228), Brooke Manley (201), Sidnee Jo Fitzpatrick (181), and Madeline Dolberry (123) who have all broken the century mark. 

THE LAST TIME OUT
DBU defeated LCU in four sets, 3-1 in their last meeting. Carly Hess registered a match high 14 kills, with Kaycie Bird turning in 26 assists and Lauren Nicks notching 22 digs. 

SCOUTING THE LADY CHAPS
LCU has been on a hot run recently winning their last four matches, three of which by sweep. The Lady Chaps most recent win comes in a sweep over St. Edward's University. Lubbock Christian ranks second in kills (1,241 total /12.93 per set), digs (1,755 total/18.28) and assists (1,147 total/ 11.95 per set) in the Heartland Conference.
