KICKOFF
Dallas Baptist returns home after a 0-1-1 finish at the Maverick Classic, hosted by Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. The Patriots battled the host Mavericks to a scoreless draw on Thursday, September 10, highlighted by an 11-save performance by senior goalkeeper Jenna Ackerly. DBU fell to Fort Lewis on Saturday, September 12, by a score of 2-1. Freshman midfielder Skye Sivess scored her first career goal to cut the Skyhawks' lead in half, but the Patriots were unable to score a second.
 
DBU returns to the Lone Star State to finish out the roadtrip with a match against No. 17 Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas, on Thursday, September 17. 
 
ACKERLY AMONG NATION'S ELITE
Jenna Ackerly ranks seventh in the nation in total saves with 35 heading into this week's games. She also ranks12th in save percentage (.946), 16^th in saves per game (8.75) and 22^nd in goals against average (.457).
 
SCOUTING THE RAMS AND THE PIONEERS
Angelo State made its debut in the NSCAA NCAA Division II National Poll at No. 17 after defeating both Fort Lewis and Colorado Mesa by a score of 2-0. Junior midfielder Haley Mendel, the team-leader in goals and points, scored both goals in the win over Fort Lewis. The Rams boast a .250 goals against average.
