KICKOFF
Dallas Baptist was blanked 1-0 in their last outing against Texas Woman's on Saturday, September 19, despite firing off 22 shots against the Pioneers. TWU got their lead in the 25th minute when junior forward Nancy Chavez received the ball off a deflection from a DBU defender and put a shot to the right of goalkeeper Jenna Ackerly.
The Patriots placed nine shots on goal and were led by forward Lindsey Eccles with 3, followed by forward Ashley Cox, midfielder Lindsey Washburn and forward Cecily Martinez with two.
ACKERLY IN NATIONAL TOP 25
Ackerly ranks in the top 25 of the NCAA in saves per game (7.83), save perecentage (.887), total saves (47) and minutes played (573:59). The Patriots also rank 36th in the country in shutout percentage (.500).
SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS
St. Edward's is off to a 4-1-0 start with its only loss coming to No. 5 Western Washington on Wednesay, September 16. The Hilltoppers also feature a talented goalie in junior Lorrie Santoy, who ranks 37th in the country in save percentage (.870). St. Edward's is led on offense by freshman Sabrina Cone. The rookie leads the team with three goals this season.
