THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist Men's Tennis Team fell in Heartland Conference play, losing to the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith 8-1. 

Junior Nathan Lowe scored the only point for DBU, winning in singles play. 

The Patriots were swept in doubles play starting with UAFS' Josh Coleman and Eric Manning defeating DBU's Cannon Jones and Isaac Childs 8-6 in line one. In line two UAFS' Grady McCain and Gavin Beach won 8-5 over DBU's Anthony Burch and Nathan Lowe, with DBU's Cole Schafer and Jordan Jackson falling in line three 9-8 (6) to UAFS' Luke Anderson and Pedro Carvalho. 

Line one through five went to the Lions in singles actions starting with UAFS' Coleman defeating DBU's Jones, 6-4, 6-0, UAFS' Manning taking line two 6-1, 6-2 over Anthony Burch, UAFS' Beach claiming line three 6-1, 6-2 against DBU's Jackson, DBU's Cole Schafer falling in line four 6-1, 6-1 to UAFS' Luke Anderson and UAFS' Grady McCain winning line five against DBU's Childs 6-1, 6-4.

DBU's Lowe won in line six singles play beating UAFS' Carvalho by a score of 7-6, 4-1 (DF).

We are only two matches in to the season but already know that this is something that we need to improve upon if we want to find success this season. I was very proud of how hard Nate Lowe battled at the 6 spot, he played his big points in the first set well and rolled in the second.
