THE LEAD
The lady Patriots will be opening up their first home games of the season with a doubleheader here at the Burg Center. DBU is coming off the Hampton Inn-Vitational tournament where the Lady Patriots made some strides in the right direction as they are starting to fond their identity as a team. The Lady Patriots have had some standout performances this past weekend by Junior
Sidnee Jo Fitzpatrick who accounted for 45 of DBU's points at the tournament and Sophomore
Madeline Dolberry contributed an amazing 54 points. Â Other notable contributors for the Lady Patriots came from Lauren Hicks and freshman assist leader
Strealy Sizelove whom accumulated an outstanding 152 assists this weekend.

LADY PATRIOTS LOOKING TO TURN THINGS AROUND
As mentioned, DBU demonstrated improved play this past weekend and they hope that progress continues to grow as they move forward. The Lady Patriots opened the season with back-to-back tournaments this year and therefore, they have seen a lot of different talent in a short amount of time. The stat sheet result records DBU's first 2-6 start in the decade since 2006 but this youthful team has resilience that demonstrates potential for a turnaround.
Â
FITZPATRICK AND DOLBERRY RECEIVE ALL-TOURNAMENT HONORS
The Lady Patriots are grateful that they get to rally behind middle blockers
Sidnee Jo Fitzpatrick and Madeline during the Hampton Inn-Vitational. They help carry DBU to a highly competitive tournament that resulted in much positivity for the team going forward. Their efforts awarded them well-deserved honors to be on the Hampton Inn-Vitational All-Tournament Team.
Â
POSSIBILITY FOR A 200 WIN CELEBRATION
With the home opener being a doubleheader for DBU, the Lady Patriots have the potential of getting two wins. Not only would this move their win streak to three games, this would get Coach Kokel an amazing 200 career wins.
Â
SCOUTING THE HOME DOUBLEHEADER
DBU starts their day at 1 PM against a tough (5-2) Colorado Christian team. The Lady Patriots having seen Colorado Christian since 2011 and CCU holds the career edge over DBU with a 2-1 record. CCU is coming off a four-game tournament where they finished with three wins. One of those wins came at the expense of the Lady Patriots second opponent, Texas A&M-Commerce. Commerce has a 5-7 lead over DBU all-time as their last time out was last September. Texas A&M-Commerce now stands at 4-4 on the season.
Â
