The Dallas Baptist University Men's Soccer team needed two overtime periods to defeat Harding University 1-0 in the season opener on Thursday night at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas.
Jacob Garcia scored the gamewinner with 8:47 left on the clock in the second period of extra time to give the Patriots the victory.

SCOUTING SAGU
The Lions also got off on the right foot with a 2-1 victory over Paul Quinn College on August 22 at home. Miguel Torres and Juan Herrera-Pela each found the back of the net in the second half of the season opener.

After a quiet first half, SAGU fired off all 12 shots in the second half. Paul Quinn took five shots in the final 45 minutes, but was unable to score the equalizer on Edgar Chavez.

DBU lost to the Lions 1-0 in the two schools' first-ever meeting last September at Patriot Soccer Field.
