LAST TIME OUT
The Lady Patriots were on the road against Texas A&M-Commerce on Tuesday for their last game where they lost 3-1. It was a tough showing for DBU where they never seemed to have control of the game, but they were coming off back-to-back tournaments before this game, so they're just now getting a feel for a more normal schedule. The Lady Patriots struggled on offense and couldn't get a lot kills in this game, but still held true defensively and finished with a solid 13 blocks.
PATRIOT STORYLINES
- This game will be the home opener for the Lady Patriots and they'll surely have some extra enthusiasm going into this game.
- Brook Clarke continues to put up impressive numbers as a freshman. She definitely can be the spark plug for this offense when they need to get on the attack.
- DBU currently has a record of 4-4, so they will have some motivation to make sure they keep their record above .500.
SCOUTING TARLETON STATE
- Tarleton State has five wins on the season so far, but four of those wins have come when they play at home. They're 1-3 when away from Stephenville.
- This team started out playing extremely well and won their first five games only losing one set in the process, but are currently on a three game losing streak after playing some good teams. We'll see how they bounce back.
- One statistic they struggle more with is blocks. They've only tallied 53 so far, and that's where DBU has done well. We'll see if there's a difference between the two teams defensively.
SERIES HISTORY
Historically, DBU has struggled against this team as Tarleton holds the series record lead at 36-6. If the Lady Patriots are able to bounce back on offense and keep things close at the start of sets, then they could begin to right the ship on that record.
