The DBU Volleyball team will face off against the Chaparrals of Lubbock Christian Thursday at 7:00 p.m. inside the Rip Griffin Center. Last match, DBU went 0-1 after suffering a close loss in five sets to St. Edward's.
Junior
Emma Eakin led the Lady Patriots with 13 kills, while sophomore
Brooke Clark had 11 of her own. The back row was stellar as
Lauren Nicks,
Kasey Holand and
Gabby Grindele all registered dougle-digit kill performances. Junior
Strealy Sizelove posted 23 assists while senior
Merci Perry recorded 15 of her own. Senior
Katie Nicholson led the Lady Patriots with five blocks, while senior
Kasey Holand had a pair of her own.
PATRIOT STORYLINES
- The match is DBU's second of three guaranteed matches with Lubbock Christian.
- DBU looks defeat LCU for the first time since November 2nd of last season.
- The Lady Patriots look to record their second conference win of the year.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN
This will be the 12th meeting between DBU and Lubbock Christian University. The Lady Patriots currently trail the series, 3-8. Lubbock Christian finished the 2017 campaign with a record of 10-17 overall with a 7-5 record in conference play. LCU is currently 11-6 on the season, coming off a 3-0 sweep of Texas A&M International. LCU defeated DBU in straight sets in the Heartland Preseason Tournament earlier this season.
