The DBU Women's Tennis team opened up Lone Star Conference play with two matches against No. 6 Cameron and UAFS. The Lady Patriots took a 7-0 defeat to the hands of Cameron, but bounced back with a 5-2 win versus UAFS.

Against UAFS, DBU won all three doubles sets.
Caroline Hudson and Grace Gaskin started the match off strong with a win, and then
Madison Stafford and Leslie Omerie followed suit with a win of their own.
Adriana Carpenter and
Sofia Teran ended the doubles sets with a win to sweep.

In singles competition, DBU went 4-2 to clinch the win.
Caroline Hudson opened up singles competition with a win, and Grace Gaskin won her set as well.
Sofia Teran and
Ira Vogelmann ended the day with their own singles wins, clinching the first conference victory for the Lady Patriots.

"I'm proud of the way we bounced back against UAFS after dropping a tough loss to Cameron this weekend. The level of competition is only going to get higher so we have to dig our heels for the home stretch with these LSC matches coming up."

The Lady Patriots improve to 11-6 on the season and 1-1 in LSC play as they head to Midland, Texas, on March 24 to take on UT Permian Basin in a LSC match.Â
