THE RUNDOWN
The Lady Patriots continued their winning ways in a sweep of non-conference foe Southern Nazarene on Saturday afternoon at The Burg Center. DBU retains a perfect record at home this season, 6-0.
Â
The Lady Patriots (18-6, 10-2)Â sprinted to an early lead in the match, forcing an SNU (14-12, 4-8) timeout at 9-5. The Crimson Storm slowed the roll of DBU, maintaining a reachable margin and pulling with three, 19-16. However, the Lady Patriots finished the set on a 6-1 run, headlined by three
Price Reeves kills, to finish the set.
Â
SNU looked to flip the script in the second. DBU head coach
Jordan Fish called for a break when the Storm went up 9-4, and her squad responded with a 12-3 stretch that was interrupted only by a timeout from Storm head coach Kevin Ingram. Up 18-14, the Lady Patriots kept control of the frame to set themselves up for the sweep in the third.
Â
The two opponents fought for control throughout set three. Ahead 8-7,
Karly Wells rattled off three kills to put DBU up by four, but that would be the largest difference in the entire frame. Back-and-forth play marked the remainder of the match, and the Lady Patriots snuck away with a 25-23 win to finish the straight-sets victory.

HEAD COACH JORDAN FISH ON PRICE REEVE'S PERFORMANCE
"I thought SNU played really well against us, so I want to give them credit. They are a great team. I am excited about how we are developing as a team. We are growing and becoming more dynamic offensively every match. We have weapons in every position, but I do want to highlight
Price Reeves. She had an outstanding week and was nearly unstoppable. I could not be more proud of her."
