THE RUNDOWNÂ
DBU Women's Soccer earned their fourth clean sheet of the season in a 2-0 win over West Texas A&MÂ this afternoon at The Pitch in Canyon, Texas. Two goals in the first half proved to be the difference for DBU as WTAMU was unable to score. Â
The Patriots came out of the gates fast as their first couple of attempts were made within 10 minutes of the game. DBU was able to keep the ball on their attacking half for the majority of the first 45, and their first goal was made by Sophia Schrock in the 23rd minute. Schrock received a pass from Taylor Tufts and shot from the top of the box into the top right of the goal putting the Patriots up 1-0. Â
Schrock struck again just four minutes later when she headed Taylor Tuft's corner kick into the net. The Patriots made four aggressive attempts near the 31st minute with three hitting the crossbar and the final shot being saved by West Texas's goalkeeper Reagan Heelan. The Patriots concluded the first 45 with a total of 17 shots, limiting the Lady Buffs to two. Â
While no other goals were scored in the second half, DBU's offense shot 16 times and had six corner opportunities. The Patriots prevented the Lady Buffs from attempting any shots and did an impressive job in stopping the transition when WTAMU did gain possession. Â
