Women's Tennis Goes 4-0 in Weekend Action

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Women's Tennis team improved to 6-0 after sweeping all four matches over Texas A&M-Texarkana, Hardin-Simmons, Our Lady of the Lake, and East Texas Baptist at the Arlington Tennis center over the weekend. On Friday, the Lady Patriots won both matches without dropping a set, defeating Texas A&M-Texarkana, 4-0, followed by a 7-0 win over Hardin-Simmons. On Saturday, DBU claimed a 4-2 victory over Our Lady of the Lake and closed out the weekend with a 7-0 shutout of East Texas Baptist.

Angela Charles-Alfred led the way for the Lady Patriots with a pair of wins at the line 1 singles position. In both matches, Charles-Alfred won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Jenna Payne, Isabella Arana Rios and Sofia Teran also compiled undefeated records in singles play over the weekend as Payne went a perfect 4-0, while Rios and Teran won all three of their matches.

In doubles action, Charles-Alfred and Payne teamed up to go a perfect 4-0 at the line 1 position, while Caroline Hudson and Leonie Schondelmaier (line 2) and Rios and Teran (line 3), each went undefeated in four matches.

UP NEXT
DBU travels south to face Trinity in San Antonio on Friday, followed by matches against Schreiner and Howard Payne the following day in Kerrville, Texas.
