THE RUNDOWN
DBU (2-0) wasted no time defeating Union (0-2) in a three-set affair on Friday evening. The Lady Patriots held the Lady Bulldogs to a .052 hitting percentage opposite a .459 clip of their own.
 
Delaney Fuller came out of the gates swinging, registering DBU's first three points. Union trailed early but kept the game close through 14 rallies. Up 6-8, a Price Reeves kill initiated a 11-2 run for the Lady Patriots. During that stretch Fuller recorded a trio of kills and a block. Ahead by 10, Karly Wells strung together three consecutive kills to top off a 25-10 opening frame.
 
The DBU dominance continued in the middle set. The Lady Patriots jumped to a quick 9-2 advantage and did not trail again until the Lady Bulldogs took the first point of the third frame. Newcomers Karly Wells and Kennedi Sutter made their presence known, slamming a combined 10 kills on 14 attempts, while DBU mixed in a quartet of aces.
 
The final set seemed like a retelling of the previous two. Fuller once again took control early, smashing four kills for the Lady Patriots first tallies of the set, and Wells sustained her tenacity with five kills in the set en route to a 25-14 score and sweep of Union.

- Delaney Fuller paved the way for DBU, executing 16 kills on .571 hitting plus six digs and three aces.
