The DBU Lady Patriots (18-8, 12-4) conclude their 2024 regular season with a five-set road victory over the Lubbock Christian Lady Chaparrals (13-13, 9-7). Led by the ever-dangerous Delaney Fuller, her 26 kills were the most out of everyone on the floor. Fuller's 74 attack attempts this afternoon is the second-highest clip she's posted all season (Wayne State, September 14).Â
Statistically, DBU's best and most efficient sets came at the beginning and the end of the contest. In the first set, the Lady Pats didn't commit a single attack or service error. The Lady Patriot offense posted 15 kills on 36 attempts in the first set, with Reagan Fifer making her first-ever set one appearance in her DBU career. Fifer's ten attack attempts this afternoon are a career-high.Â
Aryn Walton posted a career-high 61 assists this afternoon, facilitating a Patriot attack that totaled 71 kills, the second-highest kill total they've posted this season. Four different Lady Patriots were able to eclipse ten kills: Fuller, Karly Wells, Shaylee Shore, and Price Reaves. Middles Shore and Lindsey Otero led the team in blocks, contributing on eight and four respectively, of DBU's 12.
Jenna McMichael led the way behind the baseline for the Lady Pats posting three service aces, while Shaylee Shore and Aryn Walton contributed two each. Libero Daylee Doggett shared the team lead in digs with Delaney Fuller, posting 17.
