Lady Patriots Win Silver Bracket Championship at the Colorado Premier Challenge

THE RUNDOWN

DBU defeats No. 23 Lewis to garner some hardware on their business trip to Denver, Colorado for the Colorado Premier Challenge. The Lady Patriots go 3-1 on the weekend, facing a gauntlet of four top-25 opponents. DBU took sets one, three, and four en route to cashing their Silver Bracket championship.

The Lady Patriots took set one by a score of 41-39. In one of the most chaotic bouts of deuce play, it was Shaylee Shore who slammed the door in what will most likely be the longest set of the season. Shore set a personal season-high tally of 16 kills while also leading the team in consistency, achieving her 16 kills in just 27 attempts.

Karly Wells posted 17 kills in this evening's contest, one off of her season-high that was set against UT Tyler. Wells did however set a season-high mark in digs, tallying six against Lewis. Lindsey Otero posted a clean sheet on the attacking end, recording 0 errors on 15 attempts, converting on seven of them. Aryn Walton assisted on 52 of DBU's 57 kills, on top of making magic from the service line with five aces, a season-high.

The Lady Patriots look dangerous after taking care of business in Colorado. DBU is set to square off against Angelo State and West Texas A&M next weekend at home, back at The Burg Center.
