THE RUNDOWN
No. 12 DBU came out on top in an electric match against Central Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon. A pair of goals in each half led to a 4-3 win over the Bronchos.
DBU came out of the gates hot as senior forward Annie Severide received a pass from Kaleigh Naizer and made the shot in the third minute. UCO's first goal 26 minutes later from a shot by Jordan Tanges. DBU's response came less than three minutes later when Grace Berry fought to keep the attack alive and found Madison Parks open. Parks's shot found the back of the net in the 32nd minute to give the Patriots a one-goal lead going into halftime.
After the break, the Bronchos seized the momentum and posted their second goal of the night. UCO's Rebekah George was assisted by Jordan Hahn in the 48th minute to tie the score at 2-2. 18 minutes later, George struck again, delivering the Broncho's third goal. UCO took the lead with less than 25 minutes left in the match. As time ticked down, the Patriots continued attempting shots looking for the one that would tie the match. That goal came in the 75th minute when Grace Berry found junior forward Angelina Olmos in the box. Tied at three with 15 minutes to play, DBU searched for the game-winning goal. After several shot attempts, an offsides call on the Patriots, and a yellow card administered to UCO's goalkeeper, Angelina Olmos received another successful pass in the 88th minute, this time, from Haley Roberson, and made a shot that gave the Patriots their first lead since the 28th minute of the match.
The Patriots defended in the final two minutes to win their second match of the season, giving them a 2-0-1 record.

HEAD COACH MARCUS WOOD ON THE WIN
"We have some work to do to improve on the soccer side. We won with character. Our heart and fight and never give up attitude created a defining win. It was our best attacking day of the year and our worst defensive day of the year. We are proud of a great effort and the character to come from behind. We will work hard this week to grow and improve and be collectively better on Thursday."
