THE RUNDOWN
No. 10 DBU earned a 2-0 victory against the Texas A&M International Daredevils in their first conference road test. A goal in each half solidified their fourth win of the season, bringing their record to 4-0-2.
In the first half, the Patriots controlled possession, making nine shot attempts, three of which were on goal. The first goal of the night came in the 29th minute when Taylor Tufts intercepted a TAMIU pass and flicked it to Annie Severide, who dribbled it down the field and made her 18th career goal. The Patriots prevented any offensive moves from the Dustdevils and entered halftime with a 1-0 lead.
DBU continued to control the match into the second half, out-shooting TAMIU 8-2. In the 61st minute, the Patriots drew a foul inside of the box, leading to a penalty kick chance by senior Sophia Schrock. Schrock's left-footed shot made it past Dustdevil goalkeeper Claramalia Pederson to give DBU a 2-0 lead. Patriot defense only allowed one more shot by TAMIU to claim their fourth victory of the 2024 season.
