THE RUNDOWN
Friday night, DBU (11-4, 4-2 LSC) took down St. Mary's (7-11, 4-4 LSC) on the road to extend the Lady Patriots' winning streak to five games.
Lauren Witte led everyone on the floor with 15 kills on 53 swings, and DBU saw increased offensive production from their middles to solidify a four-set victory.
Aizlyn Dewberry and
Kalin Hubbard thrived from the middle, combining for 12 kills on 22 swings and committing just one error. Dewberry added six total blocks (0 solo, 6 assisted), and Hubbard added four (1 solo, 3 assisted).
Two Lady Patriots recorded double-doubles tonight: Witte added 12 digs to her game-leading kill count, and
Madisyn Jones dished out 15 assists to go with 15 digs.
Paityn Winters was one dig shy of her team-leading ninth double-double, finishing with 20 assists and nine digs.
DBU will look to push its win streak to six games tomorrow afternoon on the road against St. Edward's. First serve is scheduled for 2 pm.
